In the following, we give you an overview of the GOGREEN Plus service from Deutsche Post and explain its current terms and integration process for your mailings.

In this article, you will learn about the new rules for using the service label ("claim") and what you need to keep in mind when designing your mailings.

1. Deadlines and Availability: When is GOGREEN Plus Included?

Deutsche Post is updating the GOGREEN Plus program. Depending on the shipping method you use, new rules will apply starting September 1, 2026:

  • DIALOGPOST (Promotional Mail / Marketing Mail): As of September 1, 2026, GOGREEN Plus will be automatically included in the DIALOGPOST service at no extra charge. You can use the new GOGREEN Plus claim from this date onward without needing a separate contract.

    • Exception: If you already have a valid GOGREEN Plus supplementary contract today, you are, of course, allowed to use the new logo right away.

  • Discontinuation for Standard Shipping: Please note that from September 1, 2026, Deutsche Post will no longer offer the GOGREEN service for standard, fully-paid letters, reply mail (Responseplus), or small remaining quantities/micro-batches.

Deutsche Post has strict guidelines regarding minimum clearance distances to ensure that your mail can be processed smoothly by their automated sorting machines.

Please make sure your design adheres to the following Minimum Clearances (MC) from the edge of the envelope and other layout elements (such as your company logo or the recipient's address):

This is how a placement could look like:

Important Placement Notes:

  • Keep the Coding Zone Clear: Deutsche Post prints an internal barcode along the bottom edge of the letter. If your envelope includes this coding zone, the minimum clearance to the bottom edge is measured from the top border of this zone.

  • Special Cases: In well-justified exceptional cases, logo sizes or clearance distances may be adjusted upon consultation.

The claim can be used for open formats like postcards or selfmailers, too. The Deutsche Post is still working on the requirements and is going to publish them as soon as possible. Please send them to us so we can check the position with Deutsche Post directly.

3. Legal Information & Approval Process

  • Disclaimer: Please read the disclaimer in the official Deutsche Post guide carefully. Important: By using the GOGREEN Plus claim on your mailings, you automatically accept the disclaimer.

  • Layout Review Before Printing: To avoid misprints and shipping issues, please make sure to send us your finished layouts with the integrated claim before starting production. We will take a quick look to verify that the clearances are formally correct before your mailings go to print.

4. Claim graphics & Disclaimer

You can find the graphics and the disclaimer in the attachement.
