With our new Control Addresses feature, it's now possible to receive copies of your booked mailings. You can manage control addresses directly in our platform through a new Account section. Important: Be sure to read the important information in order to understand the benefits of this feature for you.

Here's how it works:

1. Control addresses management

After logging into our platform, you'll see a new menu point in the left sidebar called "Account". Click Account and you'll see a link to "Control addresses". We'll add more features to this Account area throughout the year.

After clicking the "Control addresses" menu item, you'll be taken to the main Control Addresses management page. To add a control address, click  "Add new address" in the upper-right of the page. Fill in the form with at least the required fields and click "Save".

You can add as many addresses as you like and for as many countries as you like. Addresses are automatically sorted by country so they will be easy to find and edit later.

You are able to add, edit and delete control addresses.

1.1 Important information for control addresses

What control addresses are suitable for and what not:

  • Checking the print quality of the mailing
  • Reliability of delivery
  • Review of the (image)personalised items
  • Verification of vouchercodes

Individalisation fields:

Since otherwise there could be problems with the validation of your addresses, you should not map your recipient addresses using individualisation fields, but instead use our standard fields such as <first name>, <last name> etc.

The contents of all individualisation fields are always copied from a randomly selected other real data record for control address mailings. This can lead to confusing results, e.g. if an individualiszation field contains the salutation.

If this is not possible, because of a special internal configuration within your Marketing Cloud or similar, we ask you not to use our control address feature, but to transfer the recipients within your segment / recipient list to us.

Voucher Codes:
Voucher codes cannot be added to control addresses as they are not part of a segment within the automation and therefore no code is generated. You will receive the control copies without the printed code.

2. Adding control addresses to your direct mailing

Set up your campaign as you would normally. On the Summary page, you'll see a new section with the heading "Control addresses". By default, all control addresses saved in your account will be added to new mailings.

2.1. For single Mailings (CSV upload)

If you haven't added control addresses to your account yet, click "Add" or follow the instructions above in Step 1.

If you have already added Control Addresses to your account, you can select which addresses to add to your mailing by clicking "Edit". This will reveal a section with saved control addresses that match the campaign country. Select the control addresses you want to include in the direct mailing and deselect a control address to remove it.

You can also add and edit control addresses here. Be mindful that any edits will change the control addresses at the account level.

If you have set up a campaign with multiple variations, you can choose to include control addresses for each variation or assign control addresses randomly.

After selecting control addresses, you will see a summary of how many addresses have been added to your mailing next to the "Control addresses" heading.

Once you have booked a mailing, you cannot change the selection of your control addresses anymore.

For Automations, you can also choose whether to enable or disable control addresses. You can also decide whether you would like to add control addresses to every automated mailing or only the first one. By default, control addresses are only included in the first automated mailing created.

After selecting control addresses, you will see a summary of how many addresses have been added to your mailing next to the "Control addresses" heading.

Once you have activated an automation, you cannot change the selection of your control addresses anymore. However, if you are changing the visuals for an automation at a later point in time you can again activate, add, edit or delete control addresses.
